Lahti Science and Business Park Ltd (LSBP) is responsible for the business development of the two top-expertise sectors of the Lahti region: Cleantech and Design.
LSBP promotes the establishment and development of growth-companies and investments to the Lahti region and cultivates design and innovation activities in the area. The company is
responsible for development and internationalization of the Finnish Cleantech Cluster. LSPB is developing Lahti Region into a world-class centre for environmental business and research.
LSBP is a member of multiple significant networks of business development: TEKEL (Finnish Science Park Association), IASP (International Association of Science Parks), EBN (European Business and Innovation Centre Network), Enterprise Europe Network, Cleantech Scandinavia and Greenovate! Europe.
The owners of LahtiSBP are municipalities in the Lahti region 84 %, companies 12 % and universities 3 %. The major stockholder of LahtiSBP is the City of Lahti (74 % of the shares). LahtiSBP itself has a subsidiary Energon Ltd, the company that manages the activities of the Renewable Energy Research Center Energon.
The turnover of the LahtiSBP in 2010 was 7.2 M€ and estimated turnover of 2011 is 8.4 M€. The number of the personnel is about 50. The CEO of the company is Lauri Ylöstalo
