Changxing County has some 650 000 inhabitants and is strategically located in the very center of the Yangtze River Delta

Changxing County has a very active entrepreneurial business life and enjoys, even compared to the rest of China a very high growth. The average income has increased rapidly and is today amongst the highest in the entire country.

Since 2004 the Peoples Government of Changxing County and the Regional Council of Kalmar County operates a formal and structured partnership. The partnership has resulted in many things , the China Baltic Business Forum is at the same time the most evident result and the most important tool of the partnership.

Since 2005 Changxing County operates a permanently manned representative office in Kalmar.
