Kalmar County and China

The partnership between the Regional Council in Kalmar County and the Peoples Government of Changxing County was established in 2004.

The purpose of the partnership is not only to increase business between the two counties but to take advantage of their strategic geographic positions in both larger regions – the Baltic Sea Region and the Yangtze Delta River Region, promoting increased trade, exchange of knowledge and culture.

The most apparent result of the partbership is China Baltic Business Forum. The forum was arranged in Changxing 2005 and 2007 and in Kalmar 2006 and 2008.
